Rayne High wrestling continues strong season

The Rayne High School wrestling team remains busy during the 2015-2016 season.
The Wolves placed second as a team at the 16th Annual Jefferson Invitational held Dec. 12, at John Ehret High School.
At the tournament, Cooper Simon placed first at 113 lbs., Morgan Manuel placed second at 120 lbs., Trey Bearb placed fourth at 152 lbs., Tyler Carriere placed first at 182 lbs., Devonte Robinson placed third at 195 lbs., Torin Benoit placed third at 220 lbs. and Mason Benoit placed fourth at 285 lbs.
Rayne also sent wrestlers to a tournament at Catholic High School in Baton Rouge on the same day.
At the Catholic High event, John Anzalone placed second at 285 lbs., Sean Thevenet placed third at 113 lbs. and Tora Benoit placed fourth at 195 lbs.
The Wolves are schedule to attend the Lone Survivor Tournament this weekend at Parkway High School, followed by a home match-up on Wednesday, Jan. 13, when Rayne will host Sulphur.
