Each year, Senior student-athletes have the ability to participate in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star games in the sports of volleyball, football, girls’ and boys’ basketball, girls’ and boys’ soccer, baseball and softball. Any Senior student-athlete is eligible to play in his or her respective game, but must be nominated by a coach who is an active member of the LHSCA.
Rayne High’s Tarya Kanonu has been selected on the West Squad for the 2015 LHSAA Volleyball All-Star Game to be held Saturday, Nov. 21, on the campus of Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans.
Kanonu, who led the Lady Wolves in kills enroute to their return trip to the State Tournament this season, is a multi-year All-District selection of District 3 of Division III.
She averaged 14.7 kills per game during her senior campaign, along with three blocks, 4.6 aces, 3.6 digs and 2.1 assists.
Kanonu is also a dual enrolled student as she is enrolled as a student at UL-Lafayette while a Rayne High senior.
Joining Kanonu on the West Squad are Notre Dame's Grace Morgan and Anne Faulk.
