Girls head to Nationals, boys in district play

Rayne’s all-star teams got things back on track over the weekend with tournament play.
Girl’s pinto and mustang all-star teams traveled to Youngsville for their super regional tournaments.
The Girl’s Pinto All-Stars (Gators) went 3-0 and was in the finals against Kinder before heavy thunderstorms moved in, forcing the tournament to be called. The Gators, along with Kinder, finished the tournament as the top two teams, both qualifying for Nationals. But, due to a lack of players, the Gators have selected not to attend Nationals.
Mother Nature also halted mustang play for the Girl’s Mustang All-Stars (Wreckers). The all-stars went 2-0 in pool play and was the #1 seed entering Sunday’s bracket play. And like the Gators, they were in the finals facing Kinder when the skies opened up and play was halted. The Rayne Wreckers, along with Kinder, qualified and will attend the Girl’s World Series July 14-18 in Highlands, Texas.
In boy’s action, pinto, mustang and bronco all-star teams traveled to Crowley for their last warm-up tournament before they begin their district tournaments of Sections I, II and III.
In boy’s pinto action, the Rayne Nationals (Storm) went 2-0 in pool play and were the top seed team going into Sunday’s bracket play before the weather delay and tournament being called.
The boy’s pinto Americans (Frog Sox) also went 2-0 in pool play and were unable to play any bracket games due to weather conditions.
Both boys’ pinto teams will be in Eunice this weekend for their district tournament.
In the boy’s mustang bracket, the Rayne Americans (Hurricanes) were 2-0 and the Rayne Nationals (Shockers) were 1-1 before the weather arrived.
Both boy’s mustang teams will be in Rayne this weekend for their district tournament.
The Boy’s Bronco All-Stars (Warriors) were 2-0 in pool play and readying for bracket action when the stormy weather moved in and cancelled play.
The boy’s bronco all-stars (Warriors) will travel to Lafayette this weekend for their district tournament.
Good luck to all Rayne teams this weekend.
