Iota dominates Basile

IOTA –  The Iota Lady Bulldogs and Bulldogs put on a shooting clinic Monday as the two teams combined for 18 3-pointers and 125 points to sweep Basile.
The Lady Bulldogs kicked off the evening with nine 3-pointers in a 64-36 rout of the Lady Bearcats.
The Lady Dogs poured in 25 points in the first quarter alone and took a 34-13 lead into the half after allowing Basile just two second-quarter points.
Iota put the game away in the third quarter after an 18-4 run.
Madeline Gatte paced the Lady Dogs with 12 points while Whitney Landry and Avery Wriborg each had 11. Cambri St. Andre, Becca Fantroy and Madison Oliver each added eight points, Shydee Johnson had five and Naomi Rasberry had one.
In the nightcap, the Bulldogs also connected on nine long balls and bounced the Bearcats, 61-32.
The Bulldogs ran off 22 points in the first quarter and took a 29-14 lead into the break.
Dylan Hebert poured in 10 points in the third quarter to help push the lead to 48-24 before the Bulldogs outscored the Cats 13-8 in the final frame.
Hebert dropped in five 3-pointers and led all scorers on the night with 27 points.
Chase Doucet and Colby Wilson each hit two shots from beyond the arc and finished with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Brett Clay followed with six points and Hunter Deville had two.
