Prep Roundup: Softball teams log victories

ERATH – The Notre Dame Lady Pios jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and held off a late rally to top Erath, 10-4, Tuesday afternoon.
The Lady Pios (15-3, 6-1) collected 11 hits in the victory while Erath managed just five off pitcher Mollie Stelly.
Alli Daigle and Taylor Satchell combined for four hits and six RBI on the day. Daigle had a double and a triple and three RBI while Satchell doubled twice and drove in three.
Mima Doucet added two singles and two RBI; Zoie Lavergne had two singles and one RBI; Stelly had a double and a single and Brittney Nolan had one hit.
CHS Ladies cruise
past Opelousas
OPELOUSAS – The Crowley Ladies made short work of Opelousas Tuesday in a 23-2, three-inning victory on the Lady Tigers home field.
The Ladies (12-12, 7-0) banged out 10 hits and took advantage of 11 walks and six errors to score all 23 of their runs in the first two innings.
Bailee Villejoin and Erica Thibodeaux each had two hits for the Ladies while Skylor Huval, Melaina Doughty, Katelyn Killmer, La’Shonda Delco, Taylor Grabowski and Maddie LeBouef each had one.
Lady Warriors
top Singer
CROWLEY – Angel Allen homered twice and Katelyn Jones homered once as the Northside Christian Lady Warriors jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in a 12-1 victory over Singer Tuesday.
Allen, Madisyn Clement and Katelyn Jones each had two hits in the victory while Meghan Jones, Sydni Guidry, Zoie Hanagriff, Leah Monte, Brooke Stanford and Mallary Vincent each had one.
Pioneers fall short
CROWLEY – Erath’s Bobcats broke a 2-2 tie with a double in the sixth inning to take a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame Tuesday at Miller Stadium.
The Pios (10-11, 1-1) committed just one error on the day, but it led to two unearned runs in the loss.
Offensively, the Pios had just two hits. Brad Stoma and Joe Faulk each had a double.
Grace upends
Warriors
CROWLEY – Grace Christian limited Northside to just four hits on the day and in doing so, slipped past the Warriors, 7-2, Tuesday afternoon at Miller Stadium.
The Warriors (11-2) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning but Grace responded with three runs of their own in the top of the second to take a 3-1 lead.
Grace added two more runs in the fifth inning and one each in the sixth and seventh.
Northside’s only other run crossed the plate in the bottom of the fifth.
Joseph Trahan logged three of the Warriors four hits, including two doubles. Bryce Gotte had a single while Christian Morgan collected two RBI.
