Rayne all-star teams headed to Nationals

A number of Rayne all-star teams participated in weekend tournaments as post-season action continues.
The Rayne Girls Mustang League Wreckers, the lone girls’ team still in action, were off during the weekend but are now participating in the 2015 Girl’s World Series this week (July 14-18) in their Zone National Tournament this week in Highlands, Texas. The festive “Parade of Teams” was Tuesday afternoon, followed by pool play on Wednesday, then bracket action on Thursday through Saturday. They were named 2014 South Zone Coastal Region Pinto 8U Regional Co-Champions during a three-day tournament held in Youngsville.
The Pinto Americans (Frog Sox) traveled to Youngsville for their Super Regionals over the weekend, but their season came to an end with a loss to Crowley (18-13) and Scott (13-12).
In the boy’s mustang action, both Rayne teams traveled to Erath for their Super Regionals. The Americans (Hurricanes) were scheduled to meet Crowley last night in the finals of their super regionals held in Erath. With a win or loss, the Hurricanes have qualified for their Zone National Tournament slated July 30-Aug. 3rd in Burleson, Texas.
The Nationals (Shockers) fell early in their super regionals held in Erath by falling short in their first two games of play.
Following their sectional (district) tournament first place finish last week in Eunice, the Rayne Boy’s Bronco All-Stars (Warriors) traveled to Youngsville over the weekend for their Super Regionals. They placed third and qualified for their Zone National Tournament slated July 30-Aug. 3, in Burleson, Texas.
