Rayne All-Star teams win Regionals

Teams qualify for National Tournament

The July 4th weekend was filled with a number of tournaments for all-star teams, with a few Rayne teams bringing home championships.
All girls’ teams traveled to Crowley over the weekend for their Regional Tournaments, with top finishers qualifying for their National Zone Tournament.
The Girls Pinto All-Stars (8-under) claimed the 2016 South Zone Coast Regional Championship. They defeated Ville Platte in the finals for the win.
In girl’s mustang action, the Girls 10-Under All-Stars were named the 2016 South Zone Coast Regional Champions with a win in the finals over Mamou.
In girl’s bronco regional action, the Rayne All-Stars placed third, while the Rayne Pony All-Stars placed second at regionals falling just short 7-6 against Youngsville.
All four Rayne girls’ all-star teams will participate in the 2016 National Zone Tournament next week at the Youngsville Complex.
In boys’ all-star action, four of the six all-star teams traveled to the Erath Invitational.
The Pinto Americans beat QSA in the finals to claim first place. The Pinto Americans came up short in bracket play.
In mustang action, the Rayne Americans beat all their competition to bring home the first place trophy. The Rayne Nationals did not participate in the tournament.
In bronco action, the Rayne All-Stars lost a one-point semi-final battle against New Iberia to finish in third place.
The Rayne Pony All-Stars did not participate in the Erath Tournament.
The Rayne Recreation Department will host the District Tournament this weekend when all mustang, bronco and pont teams will meet to Gossen Memorial Park. Play begins Friday afternoon.
The Pinto teams will travel to Eunice for their district tournament this weekend.
