TOURNAMENT CHAMPS - The Rayne 8U (Pinto Girls) All-Stars played in the their Pony Sectional Tournament over the weekend (June 24-26) in Ville Platte where they placed first by beating Ville Platte All-Stars in the championship. Rayne Rec All-Star teams claim wins

The 2016 all-star season continued over the weekend with softball and baseball teams representing the Rayne Recreation in area tournaments.
All four girls’ all-star teams traveled to Ville Platte and two of the four teams brought back tournament championships.
The Pinto All-Stars beat the host team in the finals for a first place finish.
In Pony all-star action, the Rayne All-Stars also captured first place honors with a win over North Vermilion in the finals.
In the girl’s mustang bracket, the all-stars fell to Ville Platte in the finals for a second place finish.
In girl’s bronco action, the Rayne All-Stars placed third overall.
All Rayne girls’ teams qualified for the Pony Regional Tournament this weekend in Crowley. Top winners will then qualify for the Pony National Tournament slated July 12-17 in Youngsville.
All six boys’ all-star teams traveled to a Crowley Tournament over the weekend with three teams placing.
The Pony All-Stars claimed four wins to take home the first place trophy.
The Bronco All-Stars fell short in the finals and finished as the tournament runner-up.
The Mustang Americans placed second, while the Mustang Nationals was 1-1-1 overall.
In Pinto action, the Americans were 2-0 in pool play and 1-1 in bracket action, while the Nationals finished 1-1 in pool play and 0-1 in their bracket.
All boys’ all-star teams are invited to attend their last warm-up tournament this weekend in Ville Platte before beginning their district tournaments the following weekend (July 7-10). In district, the PInto All-Stars will travel to Eunice, while all the remaining all-star teams will remain in Rayne as the Rayne Recreation Department will host the District Tournament at Gossen Memorial Park.
