Rayne Rec Biddy Basketball registration begins

As announced by Rayne Recreation Director Dwayne Derise, registration for the 2013-2014 Biddy Basketball season has begun with forms being accepted for players between the ages of seven and 10 years of age. Registration forms were also distributed to all local schools.

The last day for registration at the Civic Center Green Room  is Tuesday, Nov. 19, between 5-6 p.m.

Green Room registration dates are: 5-6 p.m. on Nov. 5, 7, 12, 14 and 19; then from 9-10 a.m. on Nov. 9 and 16.

Parents may also register their children at City Hall during regular business hours until Nov. 22nd. Registration fee is $20 per participant.

Tryouts will be held for the boys’ leagues on Monday, Nov. 25, at the following times at the Civic Center:

Boys Middy (9-10 years): 6 p.m.

Boys Biddy (11-12 years): 7 p.m.

Boys Iddy division (7-8 years) tryouts will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Ball Room.

Tryouts for girls’ leagues will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at the following times at the Civic Center:

Girls Iddy (7-8 years(: 5:30 p.m.

Girls Middy (9-10 years): 6:30 p.m.

Parental and volunteer support is also encouraged for another successful season. Active participation of all parents and volunteers are urged during Biddy Basketball season either as a coach, assistant coach or referee.
