Two killed when car struck by train

UPDATE:The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office Crash Team was activated at approximately 4 a.m. to investigate a collision between a train and automobile.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon his office received the call from a BNSF dispatcher who advised them of the accident that occurred at Hwy 90 and Sidney Richard Road just west of Crowley.
Melancon stated that investigators at the scene advised that the train, which was traveling approximately 64 miles per hour, had just dropped off several cars in Midland and was enroute back to the yard in Lafayette when the automobile cross the railroad track and failed to yield. The train traveled approximately 2300 feet from the railroad crossing before coming to a stop. Crowley Fire and Rescue were called to scene where the couple had to be extricated. The Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office pronounced the couple dead at the scene.
Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon has identified the victims in this morning’s train crash as Joshua Kade Feverjean, 29, and Natalie S.Feverjean,37, both of Crowley.
