Wolves Take Wrestling Tournament

The Rayne High wrestling team claimed top honors as hosts of the 2010 David Jennings/Anthony McCrory Wrestling Tournament held Saturday, Dec. 4, at the RHS north gym.

Posting a 5-0 score, the Wolves pulled ahead of East Ascension (3-2), Evangel (4-1), St. Amant (3-2), and North Vermilion, Basile, Plaquemine, Carencro, Lafayette, STM, Comeaux, Teurlings, Acadiana and St. Louis after pool play and on to the team championship.

Undefeated Rayne High wrestlers for the tournament were Adam Menard (145 lbs.), Bryar Babineaux (152 lbs.), Shelby Thibodeaux (160 lbs.), Trevor Carriere (171 lbs.) and Brennan McKnight (215 lbs.).

Rayne High wrestling team members are Anthony Lentini, Justin Smith, Joshua Simon, Hunter hanks, Christian Hodges, Cody Manuel, Anthony Seaux, Matthew Bergeron, Lucas Daigle, Andre Falcon, Austin Bohne, Bryar Babineaux, Adam Menard, Austin LaCombe, Shelby Thibodeaux, Joseph Bellard, Andrew Broussard, Landyn Thibodeaux, Zack Thibodeaux, Trent Duhon, Brennan Fontenot, Josh Peltier, Jason Petitjean, Trevor Carriere, Randal Morgan, Billy Thibodeaux, Billy Marcantel, Brennan McKnight, Dayton Constantin, Jake Cormier, and managers Brooke Mire, Sarah Dupont, Clare LeJeune, Claire Menard and Tori Carriere, along with head coach John Chevalier and assistant coaches Matthew Credeur, Stefan Bergeron, Patrick Manuel and Jordan Mire.
