LAFAYETTE - Wednesday evening, September 28, an elegant gala was held for the Performing Arts Society of Acadiana (PASA) members and their guests. Guests were transported by trolley to the Lafayette home of Therese and Dr. Jay Culotta.

Upon arrival at the home on the Vermilion River, a great time was had as the Midtown Men performed music from the 60s.

Christian Hoff, Michael Longoria, Daniel Reichard and J. Robert Spencer are the four original cast members of the Broadway smash hit, “The Jersey Boys.” The talented group was in Lafayette to perform “The Midtown Men” at the Heymann Center for Performing Arts Thursday, September 29.

“We have had so much fun being here in south Louisiana,” said Reichard. “We definitely enjoyed poboys from Old Town Grocery in Lafayette, various other foods and the hospitality of Shanna Higginbotham, (executive director of PASA).”

Among those at “Crooning and Cocktails” dressed in the style of the “Rat Pack” era were Gerald Delaunay of Lafayette, Mike and Lea Ann Remondet, of Lafayette and Abi Broussard Augello, who is a Crowley native. Abi is the daughter of Peggy Richard Grace and Carl Broussard of Morse.

Also present were Jack and Mel Naumann, Joni Hill, Bob and Gail Romero, Floyd and Prissy LeBleu, and their daughters Megan and Brooke (production assistant for PASA), and Lea and Kurt Carleton, all of Lafayette.

Guests were treated to an atmosphere that went back in time to the days of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr.

The ULL hospitality department assisted with the event. Delicious, abundant food was served by Jolie’s Louisiana Bistro. The evening was concluded with auctioneer extrodinare, Fred Mills, running an auction which raised funds for PASA.
