4-H Shooting Sports Competition winners

The Acadia Parish 4-H held there 1st Shooting Sports competetion on March 22nd at Cajun Elite in Jennings. The Acadia Parish 4-H Shooting Sports program encompasses the initiative goals of volunteer leadership,

capacity-building for youth and families, and environmental stewardship with commitments from the Louisiana State University AgCenter.

Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports is an active program that is attractive to both youth and adults. It uses positive learning and interaction with youth and adult role models.

The disciplines are modeled after the National 4-H Shooting Sports Program and are administered by nationally certified state leaders consisting of extension personnel and volunteers.

The mission of the Louisiana 4-H Shooting Sports Program is to assist youth in acquiring knowledge, developing life skills, and forming attitudes so that they may become self-directing, productive, and contributing members of society.

Cajun Elite has been a great suporter in providing a place for the 4-Her’s to practice and compete.

Winners were:Shotgun - Jr. Division: 1st Payton Duhon; 2nd Eric LaComb and Trace Gaspard; 3rd Tyler Breaux; and 4th Spencer LeJeune; Sr. Division: 1st Brandon Chatagnier; 2nd Kaleb Cart; 3rd Kyle Reed; 4th Chad Peloquin; and 5th Tyler Crochet.

Archery - Jr. Division: 1st Wyatt Dupre; 2nd Colton Dupre; Sr. Division: 1st Tyler Crochet.
