Rayne High Student Council attends State Convention

The Rayne High School 2014-2015 Student Council attended the annual State Student Council Convention on Jan. 17-19, 2015, at Capt. Shreve High School in Shreveport.
Those in attendance were Brooklynn Mire, Gabrielle Peltier, Whitney Fontenot, Natalie Alleman, Zoie Veillion, Gabby Mays, Caroline Bergeron, Evan Alleman, Evan Whatley, and Advisors Norellie Fontenot and Theresa Simoneaux.
Contests included:
Poster - Whitney Fontenot;
Photography - Natalie Alleman;
Essay - Evan Whatley; and
Oratory - Caroline Bergeron.
Rayne High’s Evan Alleman was selected the new District V president.
Contest winners were:
Oratory - 3rd place Caroline Bergeron;
Poster - 3rd place Whitney Fontenot;
Caroline Bergeron and Evan Alleman were selected to lead a peer workshop.
Rayne High’s council was awarded with the “Silver Honor” Award. They donated to the state charity, Camp I’m still me. They also donated glasses to the Lions club and was recognized for their participation Student Council Week.
