Faulk family gathers for reunion

The descendants of Lenus Faulk met Saturday, May 24, at the First Baptist Church in Jennings. 

Lenus Faulk was born January 1879 and died October 1968. He was married first to Pertina Sarver and had three children Ada, Leonard, and Sylvan After her death he married Pearly Sarver. Pearly and Lenus had eleven children, four sons Willis, Isaac, Willard and Dempsey and seven daughters Julia, Edna, Hazel, Esther, Lois, Lena and Roselyn.  Roselyn is the only surviving child and resides in Crowley, Louisiana.

Honorees Roselyn Robideaux, Katie Faulk and Dempsey Faulk were recognized as our special guests.

Present at the reunion were 234 family members and guests, including the 36 first cousins who are shown in the photo.

They enjoyed entertainment provided by family members. Memories were shared by all and table displays were made in the honor of the deceased and those who served and are currently serving in the military. A quilt crafted by Lenus’ mother and grandmother was also displayed.

The youngest, oldest and those traveling the farthest, (Iraq and Costa Rica) were honored with special gifts. A slide show of old family pictures was shown throughout the day for everyone’s enjoyment.

Family and guest enjoyed a delicious pot luck lunch. And after more visiting and entertainment, the day was voted a success by all vowing to get together again in the future.
