Hillary Lynn Domingue weds Adam Jude Menard

Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church was the setting on Saturday, July 25, 2009 for a Nuptial Mass uniting Hillary Lynn Domingue of Lyons Point and Adam Jude Menard of Rayne

. The 1:30 p.m. double-ring ceremony was celebrated by Deacon Tom Sommers and Fr. Bill Ruskoski.

The bride is the daughter of Clayton and Geretta Domingue of Lyons Point. Her grandparents are Frank and Velta Simon of Lyons Pont and Gerald and Bertha Domingue of Crowley. She is a 2005 graduate of Midland High School and is employed by Offshore Energy Services.

The groom is the son of Daniel and Yvonne Menard of Rayne. His grandparents are Martha Dupuis, the late Ralph Dupuis, Jr., Carol and Helen Menard, all of Rayne. He is a 2002 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and is employed by ADT Security.

Guests were escorted to their seats by Mike Menard, godfather of the groom; Jerome Domingue and Kevin Broussard, godfathers of the bride.

Musical selections were provided by Kim Guidry, Frankie Simon, Maria Broussard and Sarah Broussard.

Scriptures were recited for the Nuptial Mass by Rechelle Broussard, godmother of the bride, and Gretchen Dupuis, aunt of the groom. Gifts were offered by Victoria Dupuis and Timie Geerts.

Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her wedding veil as something old, her wedding dress as something new, her jewelry as something borrowed, and a traditional garter as something blue.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a corset-styled wedding gown of delicate white satin covered with lace illusion tulle and a chapel-length train. The delicate lace illusion bodice and pickup skirt with a contrasting pleated white satin sash was embroidered with beading and embroidery. A tiara of pearls and rhinestones held a finger-tip veil of imported illusion. She carried a silk bundle of pink orchids surrounded by pink calla lilies.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Amanda Hayes, a close friend. The bride’s sister, Heidi Monceaux attended as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Moore, Hannah Domingue and Holly Domingue, sisters of the bride, and Nicole Menard, sister of the groom.

Bridal attendants each wore a sleeveless, black satin, street-length dress featuring a V-neckline and backdrop while carrying a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.

Serving as flower girl was Ashlynn Moore, godchild of the bride. She wore a white, V-neck dress with a pick-up skirt styling and carried a silk floral ball of pink orchids and rose buds.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother, Eric Menard. Groomsmen were Scott Ronkartz, Stephen Ohlenforst, Reed Melancon and Jason Rimmer, friends of the groom, and Matthew Broussard, cousin of the bride.

Serving as ring bearers were Caleb Broussard, godchild of the bride, and Patrick McLaughlin, godchild of the groom.

Male attendants each wore a formal black tuxedo with black shirt and silver tie and vest. The lapel was accented with a silk white orchid with pink heather.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride wore an elegant formal gown in forest green topped with a matching jacket.

The groom’s mother selected a formal three-piece ensemble including a sleeveless bodice and matching open-front jacket of a brown beaded embroidery pattern, topping a coordinating floor-length black chiffon skirt.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a wedding reception held at the Rayne Civic Center.

Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a five-tiered pure white confection with filigree lace covering. Two square tiers were used for the base, topped by three round tiers, and accented with pink orchids. The top tier was noted with a bouquet of pink orchids. The cake was served by the bride’s godmother, Rechelle Broussard.

The groom’s cake was a two-tiered red velvet confection with chocolate icing decorated in a hunting and fishing theme. The cake was served by the groom’s godmother, Debbie Menard.

Following a cruise to Mexico, the couple will reside in Rayne.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held July 22 at Maison D’Memoire in Rayne. The 6 p.m. social was hosted by the groom’s parents. Guests were served brisket, rice dressing, green bean casserole, salad, bread and beverages.
