His and hers, Hawaiian Luau shower honors engaged couple

A his and hers Hawaiian Luau style shower honoring betrothed couple, Lindsay Denise Abshire and

Thaddius James “T.J.” Guillot, both of Baton Rouge, was held at 7 p.m. on October 4, 2008.

Providing the setting for the tropical social was the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Lawson.

The future bride is the daughter of Dennis and Denise Abshire of Crowley.

The prospective groom is the son of Reece and Judy Guillot, also of Crowley.

For her special day, the bride-to-be was attired in a two-piece ensemble consisting of a skirt and blouse featuring a cut-work hem. Adding a real Hawaiian feel to the atmosphere, the couple was presented with fresh orchid leis.

Hosting the celebration was Lee and Linda Lawson, homeowners; Robert and Donna Hoffpauir, Greg and Joan Kirsch, Anne Dill, Roderick and Anne breaux, Laura Benoit, Ben and Sharon Rawls, Chad and Amy Schneider and Melissa Fuselier.

The Lawson’s home and patio was beautifully decorated with corresponding accents including tables encircled with raffia skirtings adorned with hibiscus blossoms. Tiki torches were placed within the outside area of the patio providing a tranquil backlit surrounding.

Approximately 80 guests attended registering from Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Houston, Texas.

Attending the affair as a special guest were the groom-elect’s grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Dill; and Hazel Villejoin, grandmother of the bride-to-be.

The couple plans to exchange their nuptial vows during a 4 p.m. wedding ceremony on Saturday, November 29, 2008 at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia.
