Mardi Gras season in full swing at the Crowley Town Club

PHOTO SUBMITTED

Krewe Captain Nancy Wild and the members of the Crowley Town Club’s Krewe de les Dames recently hosted a cocktail party in honor of Cimmer’ s Court of 2014 to mark Twelfth Night and the official opening of the Mardi Gras season. The event was attended by members of the Krewe de les Dames and their spouses or guests, along with the Court of 2014 and their guests. In keeping with tradition, all attendees were asked to wear something from their respective costumes from past Mardi Gras Balls. A toast to the royalty and court, amusingly reflective of the 2014 Mardi Gras Ball, “Notoriously Cimmer,” was written and delivered by Ellen Dailey in honor of the above court members, from left, Dr. Carissa Hamilton-Toups - “Bonnie” of “Bonnie and Clyde;” Joshlynn Guidry - “Madam Lulu White;” William Knight - “Casanova;” Juliette Adams - “Franceska the Venetian Beauty;” King Cimmer LIX Gilles Piron, Queen Sandi Doré, Dr. Sandra Marx - “Blaze Starr;” Dr. Stephen Cannon - “Earl Long;” Matt Musial - “Al Capone;” Sandy Shuff - “Belle Starr;” Adam Dupre - “Jesse James” and Krewe de les Dames Captain Nancy Wild. This year’s Mardi Gras Ball will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Rice Festival Building. Tickets must be purchased in advance through the official website: www.ktrcarnivalball.ticketleap.com/60. Information may also be obtained by calling the Crowley Town Club at 783-1410.
