BARBIER, DUCOTE TO WED SATURDAY, DEC. 28

 

Emily Ann Barbier of Crowley and Taylor Michael Ducote of Lafayette have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on Saturday, Dec. 28, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley. Father Mark Miley will officiate the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Ruth and Charles Barbier of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are Shirley Griffin and the late Dr. James Griffin, and her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Bernice Barbier, all of Crowley. She is the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Onedas Leger of Crowley.

Emily is a graduate of Iota High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is presently employed by Macy’s Acadiana as part of the administrative support team.

The prospective groom is the son of Elaine and Vince Ducote of New Iberia. He is the grandson of Cookie and Bert Ducote, Gloria Saintes and the late Benny Saintes, the late Elsie Barras and the late Marvis Barras Sr., all of New Iberia. He is the great-grandson of Mrs. Ivy Ortego of Ville Platte.

Taylor, a graduate of Catholic High of New Iberia and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, is currently pursuing a master’s degree in mathematics.

Following their wedding, the couple plans to reside in Lafayette.
