Bridal shower brunch held for bride-elect Edwards

Danielle Reneé Edwards of Jennings, bride-elect of Lance Michael Habetz of Roberts Cove, was the guest of honor at a relaxed Saturday morning bridal shower brunch held at the home of Jackie and Doug Valdetero in Roberts Cove.

The Valdetero home was simply decorated for the occasion with an abundance of fresh floral arrangements that were perfect to brighten the drizzly day. A table of special photographs of the engaged couple, including some that had not yet been seen by the parents of the couple, was set up for leisurely viewing.

Approximately 30 guests enjoyed a menu of breakfast casseroles, fruit, french toast muffins, hand-dipped strawberries and french toast casserole, along with mimosas and coffee.

In addition to Jackie Valdetero, hostesses for the Sept. 21 event included Claudia Habetz, Joan Habetz, Kim Habetz, Celeste Lalande, Connie Leger, and the bride-elect’s two sisters, Kelly Leleux and Lauren Venable.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. Martha and Mr. Warren Hoag, and Dr. Barry Edwards, all of Jennings. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Beatrice Sabatier of Elton and the late Dr. Harold Sabatier, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Edwards of Mount Pleasant, Ark.

The prospective groom is the son of Dinah and Damian Habetz of Roberts Cove. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Libby of Crowley, and Mr. and Mrs. Philip Habetz of Roberts Cove. The couple will be wed on the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 26, during a 1 p.m. nuptial ceremony officiated by Fr. Anthony Fontenot at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Roberts Cove.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
