BRIDAL SHOWER FETES AMBER THIBODEAUX

Amber Nicole Thibodeaux of Egan, bride-elect of Blair Adam Hargrave of Morse, was the honoree at an August 21 bridal shower held at the home of Edna Suire in Crowley.

Amber is the daughter of Kathy and Alvin Thibodeaux of Egan. Her prospective groom is the son of Lynn Benoit Hargrave of Morse and the late Burton Hargrave.

The shower was hosted for the bride by her bridesmaids, Addie Sonnier, Missy Sonnier, Megan Myers, Jenna Penton, Audrey Richard, Candice Johnson, Leigha Gildersleeve and Anne Cormier.

The Suire home was decorated for the event in a rustic style, with flowers arranged in Mason jars and glowing candles throwing soft light.

The nearly 30 guests in attendance at the 2 p.m. shower enjoyed an assortment of finger foods and sweets, as well as a cake made by the mother of the bride-elect.

For the occasion, Amber selected an ivory lace dress featuring cap sleeves and a camel-colored belt. Blush-colored heels completed the outfit.

Her mother chose a teal lace dress, and the mother of the prospective groom chose a navy blue lace dress.

The honoree, along with both of the mothers, wore graceful, hand-tied corsages of vintage pink Alstroemerias.

Guests traveled from various points throughout Louisiana, including Baton Rouge, Jennings and Moss Bluff.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Obray and Eula Abshire Sonnier, and the late Frank and Ada Abshire Thibodeaux, all of Crowley.

The prospective groom’s maternal grandparents are the late Elie and Eula Benoit of Morse. His paternal grandparents are the late Benjamin and Effie Hargrave of Morse.

The couple will be wed during a 7 p.m. ceremony officiated by Fr. Neil McNeil on Friday, Nov. 8, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau.
