Brittany Arabie weds Christopher Michael Castille

RAYNE - A seven o’clock evening wedding ceremony on Friday, June 6, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church united in marriage Brittany Renee Arabie and Christopher Michael Castille, both of Rayne. The vows were celebrated by Fr. Kendall Faulk, pastor.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Arabie of Rayne. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Millard Comeaux of Rayne, Nellie Arabie of Rayne and the late John Arabie. She is a 2010 graduate of Rayne High School, 2013 graduate of South Louisiana Community College in nursing, and is employed as a nurse by University Hospital and Clinic.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Castille Sr. of Rayne. He is the grandson of Ralph and Arlene Stutes of Rayne, George Castille of Rayne and the late Shirley Castille. He is a 2010 graduate of Rayne High School, a 2012 graduate of South Louisiana Community College with a major in aviation maintenance technology, and is employed by T&M Aviation.

Against a musical background provided by Stephanie Hoffpauir, guests were ushered to their seats by Curtis Johnson and Neil Stutes, cousins of the groom; Mills Conques and Drake Conques, cousins of the bride; and Landyn Thibodeaux, nephew of the groom.

Scriptures were recited by Belinda Castille, aunt of the groom, and Blake Comeaux, godfather of the bride.

Gifts were offered by Mika Conques, godmother of the bride; Kay LeBlanc, aunt of the groom; and Bailey Leon, a friend.

On the arm of her father, the bride was radiant in a strapless sheath wedding gown with pearl and beaded lace appliques noted throughout. A matching pearl and beaded sash emphasized the natural waistline while the sweetheart neckline and cathedral-length train were held by self-fabric buttons down the backside. A pearl hair comb held a fingertip veil of sheer illusion edged with a pearlized hemline, while she carried a bridal bouquet of white roses accentuated with pearls, crystals, brooches, and her late grandfather’s rosary.

In keeping with tradition, Brittany selected her late grandfather’s rosary as something old, her wedding dress was new, pearls were borrowed from her mother, and her shoes were something blue.

A friend, Kayla Fontenot served the bride as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Crystal Castille, sister-in-law of the groom; Sarah Stutes, cousin of the groom; and Tori Sarsfield and Lexie Guidry, cousins of the bride.

Bridal attendants wore strapless dresses of plum chiffon detailed with eye-catching beading along a twisted front bodice and sweetheart neckline. Each carried a baby’s breath bouquet.

Serving as flowergirls were Hailey Guidry and Isabella Boudreaux, cousins of the bride.

Attending the groom as best man was his father, Mike Castille Sr., Groomsmen were Nick Castille and Mike Castille Jr., brothers of the groom, and Cody Arabie and Cory Arabie, brothers of the bride.

Male attendants wore gray tuxedoes with purple paisley accessories and white rose boutonnieres.

Ring bearer was Talan Castille, nephew of the groom. He wore a gray tuxedo with ivory paisley accessories.

For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother, the former Danette Comeaux wore a floor-length dress of royal blue chiffon designed with a sweetheart bodice featuring matching all-over illusion with three-quarter length sleeves and a heavily beaded round neckline.

The groom’s mother, the former Dayna Stutes selected an ankle-length dress of champagne-toned chiffon featuring a scalloped hemline enhanced with sequins topped with a matching sheer long-sleeve lace jacket.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn. Guests were greeted amid a vintage atmosphere of the historic building and reception area, in addition to wedding colors as selected by the bride.

Among the refreshments provided for guests was the bride’s cake, a three-tier confection of buttercream icing accented with pearl and crystal brooches. Fillings included amaretta, Bavarian cream and strawberry. The cake was served by Mika Conques and Donna Comeaux, the bride’s godmothers.

The groom’s cake depicted an LSU ice chest and was filled with peanut butter and cookie and cream flavorings. The cake was served by Belinda Castille, the groom’s aunt.

Guests attended the wedding from the Acadiana area, points of Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Colorado.

Following a wedding trip to Galveston, Texas, the couple is presently residing in Rayne.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents on Thursday, June 5, at Chef Roy’s Frog City Restaurant. Guests were served a selection of fried shrimp, fried catfish, fried crawfish, vegetable and fruit trays, and beverages.
