Brooke Elizabeth Mire becomes Mrs. Aaron Todd Chiasson

MIRE - A noon Nuptial Mass on Saturday, February 15, 2014, joined in marriage Brooke Elizabeth Mire and Aaron Todd Chiasson, both of Rayne. The Rev. Fr. Michael J. Arnaud, pastor, officiated the ceremony at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church.

The bride is the daughter of Randal and Cindy Mire of Mire. Her grandparents Ferdie J. Bergeron of Rayne, the late Elma Bergeron, and Donal and Bulsy Mire of Mire. She is a 2012 Rayne High School graduate, completed her studies at Acadiana Career College in 2012, and is employed by Edward Jones Investments.

The groom is the son of Todd and Melissa Chiasson of Rayne. His grandparents are Deborah Ramsey of Lafayette, Patsy Chiasson of Rayne and the late Wilbert “Bud” Chiasson. He is a 2011 graduate of Rayne High School and is serving his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Against a musical background by Amy Whatley, guests were ushered to their seats by Mickey Miller, brother-in-law of the bride, and Chaz Danley, cousin of the bride.

For the Mass, Scriptures were recited by Sarah Dupont and Taylor Hollier, friends of the couple.

Gifts were offered by Dina Matte and Shauna Meche, godmothers of the bride and groom.

Escorted by her father, the bride was radiant in an ivory wedding gown designed with a strapless bodice, feminine lace-up back, and A-lined silhouette adorned with ornate lace details. The side-split skirt featured a tulle insert highlighting a chapel-length train. Her  two-tiered fingertip veil of sheer tulle with a lace and pearl edging was held in place by an elegant brooch of flowers designed with Swarovski crystals and pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses, purple and white hydrangeas, pearl accents, her grandmother’s rosary, and two heart lockets in memory of the bride’s grandmother and groom’s grandfather.

Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day was her mother’s lace handkerchief from her wedding day as something old, her wedding dress was something new, a hair brooch from her sister used for her wedding day was something borrowed, and her grandmother’s rosary served as something blue.

Attending her sister as matron of honor was Amanda Miller. Bridesmaid was Shanna Meche, sister of the groom.Each wore a floor-length gown in a plum tone featuring an illusion neckline with back keyhole. The long, soft mesh bodice was accentuated with cascading side ruffles and back rushing for a flawless finish. Each carried a bouquet of ivory hydrangeas.

Attending his brother as best man was Andrew Chiasson. Groomsman was Trevor Meche, brother-in-law of the groom. Each wore grey slacks, a white shirt and a coordinating tie with a plum rose boutonniere.

For her daughter’s wedding, Cindy Bergeron Mire wore a floor-length, sleeveless dress of navy blue chiffon featuring a delicate bodice, ruched empire sash, and tiered skirt topped with a matching jacket designed with three-quarter-length sleeves. She was presented purple hydrangeas.

The groom’s mother, Melissa Falcon Chiasson selected an all-over lace dress in a taupe tone featuring three-quarter-length sleeve and a natural bodice with an ultra-feminine scalloped neckline and back. She was also presented purple hydrangeas.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Mire.

The reception area featured a vintage lace theme with plum lace table runners topped with ivory hydrangea centerpieces. Backdrops include plum tulle and ivory lace and pearls.

Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a three-tier white confection with a variety of flavors decorated with purple ribbon and purple hydrangeas topped with the letter “C.” The cake was served by Shauna Meche, godmother of the bride.

The groom’s cake was a traditional two-tier chocolate confection with bavarian cream filling decorated with in a LSU theme as a fleur de lis was filled with the “tiger eye” emblem. The groom’s godmother, Dina Matte, served the cake against an LSU background.

Following a wedding trip to New Orleans, the couple will reside in Belleville, Illinois where the groom is presently stationed.

Prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner on Friday, Feb. 14, at the residence of the bride’s parents.
