Carlie Thevis, Andrew Fontenot to exchange nuptial vows in Crowley

 

Carlie Blythe Thevis and Andrew Blake Fontenot, both of Iota, have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on the evening of Friday, May 9. Fr. Mikel Polson will officiate the 7 p.m. nuptials at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne I. Thevis of Iota. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Audrey Pousson of Iota and the late Rigney Pousson Sr., and Mrs. Norma Thevis of Crowley and the late James Thevis Sr.

Carlie graduated from Iota High School in 2009 and is presently attending McNeese State University, from which she plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in business in May 2014.

The groom is the son of Lucinda and Carl Lopez of Evangeline and Tammy and Roger Fontenot of Iota. He is the grandson of Mrs. Loah Simar of Evangeline and the late Lloyd Simar, and of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fontenot of Hathaway.

Andrew is a 2009 graduate of Iota High School and a 2013 graduate of McNeese State University, where he earned an associate’s degree in process plant technology. He is currently employed with Westlake Chemical.

Following their wedding, the couple plans to reside in Lake Charles.
