Emily Alleman weds Scott Blasik

TEXAS - The picturesque Queen of Angels Catholic Chapel in Spicewood served as the setting on Saturday, Sept. 19, 2015, for a four o’clock afternoon wedding ceremony uniting in marriage Emily Alleman and Scott Blasik, both of Houston.
The bride is the daughter of Marty and Karen Alleman Houston, formerly of Rayne. Her grandparents are Alfred and Marceline Zaunbrecher, and Dalfred and Joyce Alleman, all of Rayne.
The groom is the son of Duane and Mamie Blasik Plano, Texas. His grandmother is Theresa Blasik of Safety Harbor, Fla.
Against a background provided by organist: Danny Brooke and violinist Leigh Mahony, guests were escorted to their seats by ushers Matthew Lafitte, friend of bride, and Lance Alleman, brother of bride.
Vocalists were Heather Gardner and Audrey Wilson, friends of bride and groom.
Officiating the Nuptial Mass were Fr. Brian McMaster and Fr. Jonathan Raia, friends of groom. Paul Michael Piega, seminarian and friend of groom, served as altar server.
On the arm of her father, the stunning bride entered the church in a Watters design featuring a keyhole back, sleeveless neckline and striking scalloped hem. The splendidly beaded, English net and lace fit and flare gown was accented with hand-placed lace motifs that cascaded down the delicate silhouette. Emily wore a garter made by her mother from the lace of her own wedding dress. She wore a cathedral-length veil while carrying a bridal bouquet of bridal akito, white hydrangea, blush garden roses, lisianthus, and seeded eucalyptus.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her special day included a special cross from her beloved deceased cousin, Amanda Briggs, that was placed in her bouquet as something borrowed. A handkerchief worn by her maternal grandmother on her wedding day was placed in the center of her bouquet and the base of the bouquet was surrounded by the lace from her mothers wedding dress.
Attending the bride as maids of honor were Kristen Jones and Marissa Butler, friends of bride. Bridesmaids were Kristen Blasik, sister of the groom, and Alyssa Zaunbrecher, cousin of the bride.
Bridal attendants chose to wear Bill Levkoff petal pink chiffon dresses of different styles, while carrying bouquets of white hydrangea, blush sweet elegance roses, and ivory hypericum.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride wore a gray, full-length gown from Mon Cheri Montage featuring a V neckline and lace bodice, while the groom’s mother selected a navy full-length gown from Davids Bridal accented with capped sleeves and beaded illusion neckline.
All mothers and grandmothers were presented ivory spray roses, soft pink lisianthus and seeded eucalyptus on ivory pearl wristlets.
Attending his friend as best man was Daniel Laprea. Groomsmen were Jason Alleman, brother of bride, and Daniel Nieswiadomy and Michael Ryan, friends of groom.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at the Spicewood Vineyard. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and dancing.
The cocktail area was decorated with wedding photos of the couple’s parents and grandparents sitting atop wine barrels. The guest sign-in area was decorated with wine bottles with soft pink lisianthus indicating table assignments for the sit-down dinner. Wine barrels were topped with small jars of fig preserves as gifts for the guest. At the center of each dinner table was a wood slab topped with an arrangement of white hydrangea, mini green hydrangea, lisianthus, and sweet elegance roses surrounded by votive candles.
The bride and groom and their wedding party were seated at the central part of the room in front of the massive fireplace adorned by clear glass vases of white hydrangea, votive candles, and a wine cork “B”. Their tables were decorated with vases of hydrangea, mini green hydrangea, lisianthus, and sweet elegance roses. The bride and groom toasted with Waterford crystal champagne glasses, a gift from a groomsman, Daniel Nieswiadomy.
Among the edibles was the bride’s cake, a three-tier white confection accented with blush garden roses which sat atop a large wooden cake base surrounded by seeded eucalyptus. The cake was served with an engraved wedding knife, a gift fom the bride’s godmother, Roxanne Alleman.
The groom’s cake was a cookie cake decorated with a “Captain America” theme and surrounded by cake balls.
For the couple’s wedding trip, the couple departed in a 1937 Cadillac for Horseshoe Bay Resort, followed by a trip to Canoe Bay, WI.
Following their wedding trip, the couple will reside in Houston.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held the evening of Friday, Sept. 18, at the River City Grill hosted by the groom’s parents.
The bride is a 2010 graduate of Tomball High School in Tomball, Texas; afterwhich, graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with a bachelor of arts degree in English and photo journalism. She is presently employed at Weddings of Houston Bridal Magazine.
The groom is a 2006 graduate of West Senior High School in Plano, Texas. He attained a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in 2010 and is currently employed by Chevron.
