Emily Fontenot, Nicholas Dilly exchange vows

Couple wed in Iota to reside in Maurice following wedding trip to Costa Rica

 

Emily Claire Fontenot of Branch and Nicholas Rae Dilly of Lafayette were joined in holy matrimony during a sunset ceremony on the evening of Saturday, March 22, at Point-aux-Loups Springs Ballroom in Iota.

Rev. Jimmy Broussard officiated the 7 p.m. nuptials.

The bride is the daughter of Gregory and Susan Castille Fontenot of Branch.

Her maternal grandparents are Norma Castille of Church Point and the late Dudley Castille, and her paternal grandparents are the late Rodney and Mabel Fontenot of Branch.

Emily is a 2004 graduate of Notre Dame High School, a 2006 graduate of Louisiana State University – Eunice and a 2008 graduate of Unitech Training Academy. She is presently employed as a pharmacy technician at Ackal’s Community Pharmacy.

The groom is the son of Dean and Jenny Fortson Radel of Jennings and Russell and Geraldine Dilly of Maurice.

He is the grandson of the late Laura E. Thomas Fortson and the late Dr. Thomas and Betty Fortson, and the late Raymond and Edna Dilly, all of Crowley.

Nicholas graduated from Iota High School in 1997 before attending Louisiana State University.

He is currently employed by Halliburton as a drilling fluids engineer.

Guests were escorted to their seats by Wade Labauve and Cade Brown, friends of the groom.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was gorgeous in a floor length vintage-inspired gown with an organza and lace ruffle skirt. The fitted bodice, which featured a deep sweetheart neckline, was fully embellished with ivory beaded lace, and the back of the skirt flowed into a fashionable chapel length train.

Emily carried a clutch bouquet of green hydrangeas, ink blue delphinium and ivory roses wrapped in lace from her mother’s wedding dress.

Heather Babineaux, the bride’s sister, served as matron of honor. 

Amanda Fontenot, sister-in-law of the bride; Rhonda Lemaire and  Ashley Thibodeaux, friends of the bride; and Alayna Larriviere, Laura Marx, Karen Stefanski and Carrie LeLeux, friends of the bride and groom, served as bridesmaids.

Addison Latiolais, godchild of the groom, served as flower girl.

Reid Latiolais served as best man.

Standing as groomsmen were Trent Matte, brother of the groom; Jeff Fontenot, brother of the bride; and Brandon Thibodeaux, Brian Sloane, Brent Miller, Stephen Guidry and Scott Leger, friends of the groom. Honorary groomsman was the late Scott Larriviere, friend of the groom. 

Ashton Babineaux, godchild of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Following the wedding, guests enjoyed an on-site reception at the Ballroom.

On the Thursday preceding the wedding, the groom’s father and stepmother, Russell and Dean Melancon Dilly, hosted a rehearsal dinner at Fezzo’s in Crowley.

Following a wedding trip to Costa Rica, the couple will reside in Maurice.
