Hamilton, Riviere exchange vows

Couple to reside in Lafayette following nuptials at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral

 

Cecilia Renee Hamilton and Alex Ross Riviere were united in marriage on Saturday, Feb. 22, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Lafayette. The Reverend Chester Arceneaux officiated.  

Cecilia is the daughter of Craig and Mary Hooks Hamilton of Scott. She is the granddaughter of Air Force Master Sgt. Tommy and Susan Pavlas Hooks of Jacksonville, Ark., and Army Master Sgt. John and Carolyn Broussard Hamilton of Carriere, Miss.

Alex is the son of James and Andrea McCarty McFaul of Lafayette and the late Ross Riviere. He is the grandson of the late Peter and Mary Mae Chenevert Riviere, the late Marjorie Hains McCarty and Lt. Col. Justin John McCarty and the late James and Lola Dauterive McFaul.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore an elegant Sottero and Midgley lace gown.  The gown was a fitted sheath with a scalloped neckline finished with a corset closure. Her dress was completed by a vintage-inspired point d’esprit lace capelet. She wore a cathedral length veil with a feather clasp and carried a bouquet of red and white roses.

The bride was attended by her maid of honor, Milo Deanne “DeDe” Nicholson, and her matron of honor, Dr. Adrienne Riviere Musumeche, sister of the groom. The bride also had a man of honor, best friend, Justin Breaux. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Hamilton, sister of the bride; Gina Rose Hooks, maternal aunt of the bride; and Rose Calaway, Josie Latiolias and Elizabeth LeVasseur, all friends of the bride.

The groom was attended by his brother-in-law, Steven Musumeche, as best man. Groomsmen were Tommy Hamilton, brother of the bride; and Miguel Gonzalez, Adam Barry and Brian Kidd, friends of the groom. Honorary groomsman was Edmond Underwood, friend of the groom, currently serving his country in the United States Air Force. Ushers were Christopher Noto, first cousin of the groom, and Chris Barlett, friend of the bride.

Flower girls were Molly Musumeche, niece and godchild of the groom, and Ava and Ashlyn Haynes, cousins of the bride. Ring bearers were Connor Hamilton, brother of the bride, and Kenny and Ashton Riviere, the groom’s sons.

The readers were Ashley Noto, cousin of the groom, and Lyndley McNabb, friend and coworker of the bride. Musicians were Scotty Walker on trumpet, Thomas Niel on organ and baritone vocalist Shawn Roy.

The reception was held immediately following the ceremony at The Hotel Acadiana.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the home of the groom’s sister and brother-in-law, Adrienne and Steven Musumeche.

The couple will reside in Lafayette.
