HOPE HOWIE TO WED JOSEPH ODOM DEC. 14

 

CROWLEY - Hope Krysta Howie of Crowley and Joseph Barron Odom of Lafayette have announced that they are engaged to wed on the evening of Saturday, Dec. 14, at First Presbyterian Church in Crowley. Dr. Clark Palmer will officiate the 5 p.m. ceremony joining the couple as husband and wife.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Connie and Glen Howie of Crowley. Her maternal grandparents are Marie and Lecil C. Johnson of Winnsboro, Texas, and her paternal grandparents are Vera and Edward Howie of Start.

Hope graduated from Crowley High School in 2008 before going on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Louisiana Tech University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, in 2012. She is presently employed as a first grade teacher at Church Point Elementary.

The groom-elect is the son of Jane Barron of Farmerville. He is the grandson of the late Delzie Courtney of Dodson and the late Frank C. Barron of Farmerville.

Joseph, a 2004 graduate of Cedar Creek School, attended Louisiana Tech University, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 2010. He is presently employed by Schlumberger as a field engineer.

Joseph has served two tours with the United States Marine Corps Reserves Bravo Company 1/23 Infantry. His first tour was in Iraq, 2007-2008, and his second was in Afghanistan, 2010-2011. Joseph was honorably discharged in March after fulfilling his eight-year service contract.

Following their marriage, the couple will reside in Lafayette.
