Jennifer Alyse Guidry weds Paul Michael Jordan

RAYNE - A seven o’clock evening Nuptial Mass on Friday, January 25, 2014, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church united in marriage Jennifer Alyse Guidry and Paul Michael Jordan, both of Lafayette. 

The bride is the daughter of Mark and Colleen Guidry of Rayne. Her grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Sarsfield and the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cormier and Willie Guidry. She is a 2003 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, 2008 graduate of Louisiana State University, and attained her masters in business administration in 2013 at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently employed in Scott at The Therapy Center of Acadiana.

The groom is the son of Neil and Anne Jordan of Thibodaux. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Falgout of Raceland, Mrs. Lou Jordan of Rome, GA, and the late James Jordan. He is a 2004 graduate of E.D. White High School in Thibodaux, a 2011 graduate of Louisiana State University, and is employed by the Schumacher Group in Lafayette.

The double-ring cermeony was celebrated by Fr. Kendall Faulk. Scriptures were read by Patsy Whitehorn, godmother of the groom. Gifts were offered by Laura Elizabeth Latham and Brittany Gros, cousins of the groom.

Against a musical background provided by Kip Faulk, guests were ushered to their seats by Brad Saltzman, Scott Saltzman, Steven Saltzman and Jude Peltier, cousins of the bride.

On the arm of her father, the bride wore an Alvina Valenta ivory silk faced duchess soft fluted wedding gown designed with a sweetheart neckline featuring an asymmetrical ivory alencon lace bodice detailed with a jeweled floral design on an ivory satin ribbon at the natural waist. Her headpiece held a chapel-length ivory veil with ivory satin details. She held a mixed bouquet of ivory and blush roses, ranunculus and hydrangeas.

Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her grandmother’s rosary as something old, a pearl bracelet given by groom as a graduation gift was something new, her granny’s pearls were something borrowed, and a sapphire ring given by the groom for her wedding gift as something blue.

Attending her sister as maid of honor was Brooke Guidry. Matron of honor was a friend, Ashley Johnson. 

Bridesmaids were Katie Saltzman, cousin of the bride; Renee Jordan, sister of the groom; and friends Mary David Kasischke, Anne Marge Boudreaux, Megan Leonard, Britney Lovetro, Amanda Altazan Newman and Melissa Stelly. 

Bridal attendants each wore a floor-length Saison Blanche of black European matte satin featuring a sweetheart neckline and asymmetrical design bodice and skirt in harmony with asymmetric drapes and layers. Each carried ivory hydrangeas gathered with a black satin ribbon.

Attending the groom as best man was a friend, Nicholas Ledet.

Ring bearer was Jack Johnson, son of matron of honor, Ashley Johnson.

Groomsmen were Nicholas Guidry, brother of the bride; Stephen Lindsey, groom’s brother-in-law; and friends Paul Olinger, Andrew Harris, Kevin Kliebert, Rene Brue, Jason Hadaad, Jay Kasischke and Blake Breaux.

Male attendants each wore a classic black tuxedo with black bow tie and ivory hydrangea boutonniere.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, the former Colleen Sarsfield wore a black floor-length Jade by Jasmine dress with silky chiffon floral details and neeted top. She was presented a corsage of ivory roses and hydrangeas.

The groom’s mother, the former Anne Falgout selected a two-piece Daymor Coture dress in a teal tone featuring ruched three-quarter length sleeves and off the shoulder V-neckline design. The ruched wrapped bodice was embellished with a side buckle and fabric drape detail which flowed into an A-lined floor-length skirt.

Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception at The Crossing at Mervine Kahn which provided a romantic and traditional setting. Ivory and blush floral details were noted throughout the reception area housed in antique silver vases, all set against a candlelight background.

Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a four-tier round buttercream confection accented with silky fondant ribbons lining each layer, in addition to a speckling of hydrangeas and blush and ivory roses.

The groom’s cake was a traditional three-layer confection detailed with an LSU colored chocolate covered strawberries.

Following a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Lafayette.

Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held the evening prior to the wedding at Cafe Vermilionville. The evening social was hosted by the groom’s parents.
