Miller, Mitchell to wed Saturday, May 17

 

Sarah Aline Miller of Crowley and Parker Reed Mitchell of Newellton have announced their betrothal and intention to be wed on the evening of Saturday, May 17.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Lorraine Bennett of Rayne and Jack D. Miller of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Lois Bennett of Rayne and the late Harrison Bennett of New Orleans, and the late Georgia and J. D. Miller of Crowley.

Sarah is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology. She is presently pursuing a graduate degree in social work at Louisiana State University. 

The groom-elect is the son of Jennifer and Scottie Nugent of Monroe and Billy Mitchell of Newellton. The groom’s maternal grandparents are Maurene and Billy Parker of Monroe, and his paternal grandparents the late Virginia and Billy Mitchell of St. Joseph.

Parker graduated from Sterlington High School before attending the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing, and Southern University Law Center, where he earned a Juris Doctorate. He is currently employed as an attorney in Crowley.

The 6 p.m. nuptials will be officiated by Fr. Gary Schexnayder at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne.

Following their wedding, the couple will reside in Crowley.
