Mr. and Mrs. Tevin Lynzel Barker

Onezine, Barker exchange wedding vows in Crowley

Couple to reside at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois following honeymoon cruise

Kei’Andrea Monae Onezine of Crowley and Tevin Lynzel Barker of Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, were joined in holy matrimony on the evening of Saturday, July 5, at Israelite Baptist Church in Crowley.

Reverend Ivan J. Lewis officiated the 6 p.m. nuptial ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Barbara and Gilbert Onezine Sr. of Crowley and the granddaughter of Louise Collins of Lafayette. She is presently a full-time student at McNeese State University, where she is pursuing a degree in nursing.

The groom is the son of Vivian and Terry Barker Sr. of Crowley. He is the grandson of Annie Bell Parker of Mermentau and Algie Benoit of Crowley. Having earned an associate’s degree in human resources, Tevin is currently on active duty in the United States Air Force.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Thaddeus Andrus, with solos sung by Thaddeus Nolan and Lynetta Sylvester.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was gorgeous in a white floor length gown with a classic A-line silhouette. The gown’s fitted drop waist bodice featured a sleeveless sweetheart neckline and was adorned with embroidered lace appliques and Swarovski crystals.

To accompany her gown, Kei’Andrea selected a white finger tip veil trimmed with Swarovski crystals and affixed with a Swarovski crystal comb.

Christina Phillips and Tynikie Collins, both sisters of the bride, served as matron and maid of honor, respectively. They were clad in cappucinno-colored gowns defined at the waists with salmon ribbons accented with lace flower appliques.

To serve as best man, the groom selected his brother, Terry Barker Jr.

For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride, the former Barbara Collins, selected a champagne-colored gown featuring a crystal-embellished illusion top with a trumpet skirt.

The mother of the groom, the former Vivian Benoit, chose a two-piece stone-colored ensemble with a cap sleeve top and trumpet skirt.

Following the ceremony, family and friends celebrated with the newlywed couple at a reception held at the International Rice Festival Building.

The venue was elegantly decorated for the occasion. The round guest tables were topped with gold cloths, and guests were seated in classic Chiavari chairs.

The bride’s five-tiered hexagonally-shaped cake was decorated with white icing and trimmed with rhinestone borders, rhinestone swirls and a monogram of the couple’s new initials on the third tier.

The groom’s three-tiered, tuxedo-inspired cake was decorated to represent the groom’s Air Force dress blues.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding traveled from Arkansas, Maryland, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as various points throughout Louisiana.

On the afternoon prior to the wedding, the groom’s family hosted a rehearsal dinner at the C. F. Ladd Masonic Hall in Crowley.

Following a seven-day honeymoon cruise to Belize and Honduras, the couple will reside at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois.
