Shelbi Taylor Roy weds Myles Jude Pryor

RAYNE - Shelbi Taylor Roy and Myles Jude Pryor were united in holy matrimony on Saturday, September 26, 2015 during a one-thirty afternoon Nuptial Mass held at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father William Schambough officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of John and Patti O’Brien Roy of Breaux Bridge. Her grandparents are Jeanette O’Brien and the late LeRoy O’Brien of Lafayette, and Barbara Roy and the late Daniel “Sonny” Roy of Lafayette. She is a 2010 graduate of Teurlings Catholic High School and a 2014 marketing graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently attending Cosmetology School at CTC to fulfill her dream of doing hair and make-up once she graduates in January of 2016.
The groom is the son of Ira and Lisa Habetz Pryor of Rayne. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Habetz and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Pryor, all of Rayne. He is a 2010 graduate of Rayne High and a 2015 petroleum engineering graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is employed as a Production Operator for Wood Group PSN/Swift Energy.
Against a background of musical selections provided by Kip Faulk, Max LaBry (uncle of bride) and Dixie D’Amelio (cousin of bride), guests were ushered to their seats by David Schexnailder, cousin of the bride; Lukas LaBry, cousin of the bride; Kyler Habetz, cousin of the groom; and Jason Roy, cousin of the groom.
The bride entered church on the arm of her father wearing a vintage-styled, champagne colored wedding gown designed with ivory lace overlay. The classic-style ensemble featured long sheer sleeves fully embellished with lace appliques and beading, which also continued throughout the fitted silhouette. Her sheer lace-covered, bateau neckline was enclosed at the back with a row of satin-covered cascading buttons throughout a chapel length train. A beautiful crystal and pearl studded belt accentuated the gown at the natural waistline. Complementing her gown was a fingertip tulle veil enhanced with a hemline of lace and crystal along the scalloped edge. She carried a bridal bouquet of ivory, peach and pale mauve roses accented with deep steel blue sea holly thistles to add a pop of color.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day held a special meaning for the special day. In memory of the bride’s grandfathers, two hearts made from fabric from their shirts were sewn into the lining of her dress as something old. Elegent teardrop pearl earrings served as something new, she borrowed brooches for her bouquet, and wore a navy garter as something blue.
Serving as maid of honor was Cassie Meynard, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Caitlin Pitre, friend of the bride; C.C. Henson, friend of the bride; Holli Schexnailder, cousin of the bride; Taylor Lyons, friend of the bride; Parris Monlezun, friend of the bride; Harli Lockhart, cousin of the bride; and Darbi Lockhart, cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Charli D’Amelio, cousin of the bride.
Bridal attendants each wore an elegant, floor-length dress of coral-toned Morilee satin designed with a single shoulder strap and peplum-enhanced waistline. Pearl accessories and flesh tone shoes were worn. Each carried a bouquet of ivory, peach, and pale mauve rose bouquet similar to the bride’s.
Flower girl was Annabelle Roy, cousin of the groom. She wore a tank bodice-style dress featuring delicate lace and a long tulle skirt with a chic peplum. Her look was finished with a navy sash and bow at the waist.
Attending his brother as best man was Nicholas Pryor. Groomsmen were Spencer Roy, brother of the bride; Drew Schambough, friend of the groom; Selleck LeBlanc, friend of the groom; Dusty Pryor, cousin of the groom; Damian Guillory, friend of the groom; Eric Miller, friend of the groom; and Chris Castille, friend of the groom. Junior Groomsman was Austin Doucet, friend of the family.
Male attendants each wore a Joseph A. Banks slim fit navy blue suit with white dress shirt and brown dress shoes. Pocket squares were also included with the attire, along with a steel blue, silver, and navy colored necktie to finish off their suave attire. Each lapel was noted with a peach rose boutonniere.
Ring bearer was Reid Powell, friend of the family. He also wore a navy blue suit with a white dress shirt, white pocket square, and paisley steel blue necktie, along with a peach rose boutonniere.
For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother, Patti O’Brien Roy wore a navy blue street-length dress designed with a round neckline and all-over navy lace including the sheer lace long sleeves. The natural waist was enhanced with a cumberbund-style belt gathered with a vintage brooch.
The groom’s mother, Lisa Habetz Pryor selected a tea-length, vintage-style dress of light pink chiffon designed with a princess neckline topped with a sheer lace top encrusted with lace appliques and dotted with Swaroski crystals. The natural waist was gathered with a narrow cumberbund-style belt.
For the Nuptial Mass, Scripture readers were Sandra Vanicor, godmother of the groom, and Ken Boudreaux, godfather of the bride. Gift bearers were Gingi Lockhart, godmother of the bride, and Randal Pryor, godfather of the groom.
Immediately following the wedding, a shabby chic vintage-style reception was held in honor of the newlyweds at The Crossing at Mervin Kahn in Rayne.
Among the refreshments was the bride’s cake, a three-tier, white butter cream confection with lace accents and peach rose clusters. A traditional bride and groom topper was used.
Also served was the groom’s cake, a traditional chocolate confecton designed with a hunting theme. Among the chocolate-covered strawberries were shotgun shells and topped with deer antlers and the letter “P”.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom’s parents was held Thursday, September 24, at Fezzo’s Resaurant in Scott. Guests were served a menu of shrimp, tilapia, crawfish, chicken, steak, seafood pasta, and gumbo.
Upon returning from their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple will reside in Parks.
