Little Miss Crowley pageants set for Nov. 15

The Crowley Professional Women’s Club has set Saturday, Nov. 15, as the date for the annual 2014 Little Miss Crowley Pageants.

This year, however, there will be three new divisions - Baby Miss Crowley, Tiny Miss Crowley and Ms. Crowley.

The age divisions break down as follows:

• Baby Miss Crowley: 0-12 months;

• Tiny Miss Crowley: 13-23 months;

• Toddler Miss Crowley: 2-3 years;

• Petite Miss Crowley: 4-5 years;

• Deb Miss Crowley: 6-8 years;

• Little Miss Crowley: 9-11 years;

• Ms. Crowley: 24 years and up.

The entry fee is $35 for early registrants, with early registration ending Friday, Nov. 7. After that, the fee is $45, and it is possible to register up to and including the morning of the pageants. There is an additional $5 fee for contestants desiring to enter the photogenic category, which is optional and will not affect a candidate’s score.

Checks will be accepted for early registration and should be made payable to “Crowley Professional Women’s Club.” Checks will not be accepted from late registrants, who will need either cash or a money order.

Contestants in the Baby Miss through the Tiny Miss divisions should be dressed in “Sunday best” only. Contestants in the Ms. division should be dressed in formal attire.

Contestants chosen as queens will receive crowns, pins, custom-made banners and Crowley Chamber cash, and those chosen as alternates will receive medallions and Crowley Chamber Cash. Winners of the photogenic category will receive medallions and gifts.

Photographs must be no larger than 8-by-10 inches and may be brought in on the day of the pageant. Photographs should be labeled with contestants’ names and ages and should be placed in plastic sleeves or folders. Neither picture frames nor large photo albums will be accepted. Photos will be returned the day of the pageants.

Contestants are to arrive fully dressed and ready for competition. No curling irons, straight irons or other heated hair tools will be allowed.

This year’s pageants will be held at the historic Rice Theatre, located at 323 N. Parkerson in Crowley. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and the pageants will begin at 10 a.m. 

Admission to the pageants is $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 12 and under.
