Terro descendants attend annual family reunion

Descendants of Hermenegildo (Emile) and Josephine LaGrange Terro of the Indian Bayou area gathered on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the VFW Hall in Crowley for the 2014 Terro family reunion.

The honored couple were the parents of 12 children, Emile, Martin, Theresa, Marguerite, Andrea, Alcea, Maurice, Eugenia, Francis, Eddie, Gauthier and Clomart.

Honored at the reunion was the family of Emile Terro and Ida LeBlanc. Linas Terro Thibodeaux of Morse, was the eldest family member at 93 years of age.

Also honored at the reunion was the family of Martin Terro and Euema Boudreaux. Viola Terro Boudreaux of Rayne was the eldest family member of the Martin family at 97 years of age. Viola was also the eldest family member in attendance for the entire reunion.

The youngest family member in attendance were twin brothers Jason and Joseph Guidry, four-month-old sons of Jason and Danielle Guidry of Maurice.

Traveling the farthest to attend the reunion were Benji, Kirsten, Peyton, Drew and Abigail Terro of Floresville, Texas.

Reunion committee members were Vic and Zona Terro, Beverly and Jenie Terro, Rodrick and Sharon Jeanise, Rocky and Genia Robinson, Dot Thibodeaux, Benji Terro, Marlon Bourque, Tina Louvierre, Walace and Mike Guidry.

Guests enjoyed a meal of covered dishes from each family in attendance, in addition to music provided by DJ Mike Guidry.

Over 175 family members and guests were in attendance from Rayne, Indian Bayou, New Iberia, Morse, Lake Charles, Sulphur, Lafayette, Crowley, Maurice, and points of Texas including Beaumont, Port Arthur and Floresville.

The next Terro family reunion is scheduled for Aug. 1, 2015.
