Police charge accomplice

The Rayne Police Department took custody of Marcie Walsh (30) Monday, Jan. 27, for one count of Assisting Escape.
Chief Carroll Stelly said Marcie Walsh is one of two individuals who assisted in the escape of Leroy Begnaud last week. Chief Stelly added that more arrests are anticipated in this case.
Chief Stelly stated that Walsh was arrested by the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Offender Task Force’s Lafayette Division on a warrant obtained by the Rayne Police Department.
