Council OKs permits, bills, 4-way stop

During their April meeting Tuesday evening, the Crowley City Council agreed to several motions including purchasing a new police car to replace one that had been recently totalled; reissuing a beer/liquor permit to A&J Convenience Store on West Hutchinson Avenue; and the moving of a four-way stop sign on West Seventh Street.

In its routine items, the Acadia Parish School Board approved several committee recommendations.

Jury moving against airport rentor

The Acadia Parish Police Jury will seek reimbursement of all back rent owed by the operator of a flying service at LeGros Memorial Airport.

Funeral home property ownership questioned

In a surprise to nearly everyone in attendance, a woman told the Crowley City Council Tuesday night that the property recently purchased for a new funeral home in West Crowley is still legally hers.
