Morning bridal courtesy honors Miss Cicely Renee Zaunbrecher

Family and friends gathered recently in honor of the forthcoming marriage of Cicely Renee Zaunbrecher of Houston and Homer Edward Barousse, III of New Orleans.

The bridal party, held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, was held at the home of Ryan and Angie Fogleman of Rayne.

Guests in attendance enjoyed a variety of refreshments including butter pecan cake, quiche cups, finger sandwiches, spinach dips, miniature biscuits, shrimp pasta salad, fruit bowl, cheese balls with crackers, pinwheels, thumb prints and pecan cookies.

The party was well attended with over 55 guests honoring the bride-to-be. Out of town guests registered from Crowley, Houston, Rayne, Lafayette, Lake Charles and New Orleans.

Attending the event as special guests were Mrs. Clovis Boudreaux, maternal grandmother of the bride-elect; and Mrs. Reggie Zaunbrecher, paternal grandmother of the bride-elect.

For the special event, the honoree chose a black belted dress with three quarter length sleeves. A gold cashmere scarf and gold jewelry accessorized her ensemble. To complete her look she was presented with a corsage of miniature ivory roses.

The bride-elect’s mother, Mrs. Peggy Boudreaux Zaunbrecher chose a pink long sleeved textured jacket with black buttons over a black and white painterly check silk shell along with a black belted pencil skirt.

Mrs. Carolyn Baker Barousse, mother of the groom-elect, chose a black sweater dress with matching jacket for the special occasion.

Each mother was presented with a corsage of miniature ivory roses.

The couple will exchange vows during a nuptial Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne on May 7, 2010. Following the 6:30 p.m. occasion a reception will be held at the City Club in River Ranch in Lafayette.

Miss Cicely Renee is the daughter of Chris and Peggy Zaunbrecher of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clovis Boudreaux and Mrs. Marian Zaunbrecher, all of Rayne and the late Reginald Zaunbrecher.

She is a 1991 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and received her B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is currently employed by Continental Airlines in Houston as a flight attendant.

Mr. Homer Edward III is the son of Homer Edward II and Carolyn Barousse of Crowley. He is the grandson of Mr. Donald L. Baker, Sr. of Shreveport and the late Mrs. Donald L. Baker and the late Mr. and Mrs. Homer Edward Barousse, Sr.

He is a 1991 graduate of the Episcopal School of Acadiana, a cum laude graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi and attained his law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law in Richmond, Virginia. He is presently engaged in the practice of law with Plauchè, Maselli and Parkerson LLP in New Orleans.
