Rayne NAUW Chapter hosts Annual Scholarship Pageant

The Rayne Branch of the National Association of University Women presented its 2015 Annual Scholarship Pageant on Sunday, May 31, at the Rayne Civic Center Ballroom.
Crowned the new 2015 royalty were Mr. NAUW King Jordan Handy Jr. and Miss NAUW Queen Gabrielle Mouton.
Gabrielle is the seven-year-old daughter of Nicola Mouton and a second grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary. She was crowned by last year’s honoree, Bremilin Minnix.
Jordan is the nine-year-old son of Jordan and Stephanie Handy and a fourth grade student at Holy Family Catholic School. He was crowned by last year’s honoree, Noah Peter.
Court members include:
Little NAUW Princess Laila Levy, nine-year-old daughter of Agatha Levy and a fourth grade student at Willow Charter Academy;
1st Runner-Up Mary Delco, eight-year-old daughter of Ursula Hawkins and a third grade student at Martin Petitjean Elementary; and
Little NAUW Prince Kenneth Senegal, nine-year-old son of Kenneth Senegal and a fourth grade student at South Rayne Elementary.
Greetings were extended by NAUW President Diane Granger, introduced by Hilda Wiltz, the program’s mistress of ceremonies.
Chairng this year’s event was Laura Levy with co-chairperson Bethalun Bernard.
The NAUW Rayne Branch would like to express their thanks to the parents for their patience and time. Special thanks to the local sponsors for the Treasure Chest donations afforded the day’s giveaways, and the community for attending and supporting the children who participate in the annual pageant.
