Arrest made for attempted second-degree murder

Crowley Police have extradited a Mississippi resident back to Crowley to face charges of attempted second-degree murder.

The incident occurred on Aug. 16, 2015, when the suspect shot the victim in the 700 block of West 11th Street. The victim received injuries that were not life-threatening.

Crowley Police working with authorities in Mississippi have arrested Stephon Tyrai Williams, 21, of Jackson, Mississippi. Upon his arrest in Mississippi on an outstanding arrest warrant from Crowley Police, Williams cleared extradition and was transported back to face his charge. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

“Investigations and finding people often take time. We have cleared another shooting incident and continue to work on those which have not been cleared. These cases remain open,” stated Chief KP Gibson.
