Flooding in Acadia Parish: schools closed Monday, advisories announced

As waters slowly recede in the parish, the aftermath is still unfolding from Friday night and Saturday's floods.
Updates are as follows:
- Public schools in Acadia Parish will be closed Monday.
- Under curfew since noon Saturday, Crowley's curfew has been lifted. While road conditions have improved some remain closed and others still have water on them.
"Motorists are still advised to avoid the John N John Overpass and the area underneath as water is still standing, as well as areas of Cedar Street and South Avenue O. Also, some areas on the west end of Northern still remain with standing water," stated Chief Jimmy Broussard.
"All motorists are urged to use extreme caution when driving as some standing water may still be on the roadways. Also, officials with the City of Crowley are watching the weather closely due to the possibility of future flooding may cause streets to be closed again."
