Principal John Wendell Prudhomme has announced a number of events and important dates in preparation for the upcoming school year.
The first day of classes is Wednesday, Aug. 10, with the first bell to ring for the start of classes at 7:50 am.
The school will be open Aug. 1-3 for students to do the following:
• Take student ID (students must be in proper uniform with no facial hair, facial piercings, and school-appropriate hair length and color).
• Pay registration fee — This registration cost is $15 before school starts and $20 after Aug. 4. The registration fee covers the student ID and 2016-2017 student planners.
• Receive class schedules.
• Select lockers — To “reserve” a locker, students must have a combination lock. They can bring their own or purchase one from school for $5.
• Submit schedule change requests.
• Purchase parking permits — Parking permits are $15. There are a limited number of parking permits, therefore they will only be sold on Aug. 2-3 to juniors and seniors.
• Senior Dues — Seniors can pay their senior dues of $30. Senior dues will increase incrementally Nov. 2016, Jan. 2017 and March 2017.
NOTE: All students must have an ID and locker to receive their schedules, lockers and/or books.
Dates are assigned for each grade as follows:
• Tuesday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. for seniors and special education;
• Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. for juniors only;
• Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 12 noon until 3 p.m. for sophomores only;
• Thursday, Aug. 4, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. for freshmen only.
Freshmen parents are invited to accompany their children to registration between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Parents and students will be able to meet the administration and freshmen teachers. In addition to getting their ID and schedules, students will be able to tour the campus.
Due to registration for enrolled students, the office will not be enrolling new students August 2-4. New student enrollment will be held Aug. 1st and Aug. 5th until the start of school.
Notre Dame
As announced by Principal Cindy Istre, a number of events and programs are scheduled for the start of the new 2016-2017 school year at Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish.

Aug. 8: Freshman Orientation, 8-11 a.m.;
Aug. 9 - 10: Faculty retreat and inservice;
Aug. 11: First day for seniors and freshmen, 1 p.m. dismissal;
Aug. 12: First day for juniors and sophmores, 1 p.m. dismissal;
Aug. 12: Senior pictures in school library, boys 11-12:30, girls 1-2:30;
Aug. 15: First full day of school for all students.
