"Shop Small Business Saturday" this weekend

Locals encouraged to shop/support small businesses

By Lisa Soileaux, Assistant Editor, Rayne Acadian-Tribune

The Rayne Chamber of Commerce is supporting locally owned small businesses this Saturday by encouraging local citizens to "Shop Small" on Small Business Saturday. Shoppers can visit locally owned retailers & businesses this Saturday, November 30, to show their loyalty & commitment to small businesses in Rayne. The Chamber urges local citizens to spread the word to help make Small Business Saturday successful in throughout the community.

The Rayne Chamber of Commerce consists of mostly small businesses. We think a promotion like Small Business Saturday is a great way to kick-off the Holiday Shopping Season! This is a great way for patrons to show their support to the small businesses that make Rayne and Acadia Parish so special.

Small Business Saturday or "Shop Small" is an initiative created by American Express in 2010 to spotlight locally owned merchants during the busiest shopping time of the year, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This campaign is geared to help generate support for locally owned businesses in communities and to keep them thriving.
