Victoria Richard crowned Frog Derby Queen

Victoria Blaise Richard, 15-year-old daughter of Sean and Holly Richard of Rayne, was crowned the 2013-14 Frog Derby Queen Saturday during the 41st Rayne Frog Festival. Since 1946, the annual Frog Derby has been hosted by the Rayne Lions Club.

The new Frog Derby Queen was crowned by last year's honoree, Mia Guidry.

Awarded the 2013-14 Frog Jockey banner and crowned was Cailey Morgan, 16-year-old daughter of Julie and Brad Lopez and Cy and Carey Morgan.

Whitney Fontenot was named 1st Maid. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Scott and Mona Fontenot.

2nd Maid was Madison Vidal, 16-year-old daughter of Grady and Lance Arceneaux. She was also awarded the trophy for the longest jump by her frog entry, "Senor Frog."

Named Miss Congeniality by the contestants was Brittany LaCroix, 14-year-old daughter of Denis and Shawn LaCroix.

Also awarded was McKenzie Meche, 16-year-old daughter of Craig and Jamie Meche. Her frog entry, "Uncle Si," was awarded for "Best Dressed Frog" during the contest.
