Rayne Lions to offer mandatory hunter education course

 

The Rayne Lions Club will host its annual mandatory Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries’ Hunter Education course.

The course will be held August 15th from 6-9 p.m. and August 16th from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Green Room (part of the Rayne Civic Center Complex at 318 Gossen Memorial Dr.).

Registrants must be at least 10 years of age and the class size is limited to 75 students.Registration will only be accepted online at www.wlf.louisiana.gov under the section of hunter education. Space is limited so register now.

Participation on all days is mandatory and absence from any part of the class will be considered failure to complete the course.

A hunter education certification must be obtained before purchasing an unrestricted hunting license. A valid license is required for hunters aged 16 and above. Participants must be 10 years or older to become certified.

The course and all materials will be provided at no charge compliments of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and the Rayne Lions Club. Feel free to bring a highlighter or ink pen to take notes.

Parents, please ensure your child is on time because the course will begin promptly and on time -- no exceptions.
