Rayne all-stars score wins at Nationals

Not one, but four girl’s all-star teams represented the City of Rayne and the Rayne Recreation Department during the 2016 PONY South Zone World Series over the weekend. The tournament was held at the Youngsville Sports Complex.
The Pinto All-Stars placed in the top six of 27 teams in attendance going 2-1 in pool play before tallying a 3-2 bracket play mark.
In mustang action, the Rayne Gators placed third among 22 teams. They played a total of eight games talying a 6-2 overall record. They were one of two undefeated teams before entering final four play.
The Bronco All-Stars went 2-1 in pool play and 202 in the tournament bracket, falling just short of placing during the World Series.
Following a strong pool play performance, the Pony All-Stars lost out following three bracket games, falling short.
Three boy’s all-star teams participated in regional action over the weekend and into this week.
The Pinto Americans were scheduled to face Loreauville Tuesday evening in Youngsville following a Monday night win over Kinder.
The Mustang Americans claimed a 7-6 semi-final win over Eunice Monday evening in Erath. They were scheduled to play for the regional championship Tuesday when they face Scott. Win or lose, the Americans will advance to the South Zone Tournament to begin July 27th in Youngsville.
The Pony Al-Stars also traveled to Youngsville for their regional tournament. They posted a 11-1 win over CSA Monday evening and was scheduled to meet Kinder in the semi-finals Wednesday.
