Welcome House director warns of false solicitors

MAXIE - Stacey Miller, the director of The Welcome House, is warning residents to beware of anyone asking them for donations of any kind.

"We don't solicit for donations," said Miller on Tuesday. "We are grateful for any and all donations that are given to the shelter. However, we have recently had problems with people making phone calls and asking for donations on our behalf."

Miller said that anyone wishing to donate to the shelter should make sure that they contact her personally.
