Shower held in honor of Prudhomme, Williams

An LSU themed tool and pantry party honoring Cherie Prudhomme and Joseph Williams was held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the home of Maggie Miller of Crowley.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Troy and Mona Prudhomme of Crowley, while the bridegroom is the son of Katie Williams of Crowley and Mark and Lisa Williams of Houston, Texas.

Hosting the social were Maggie Miller, Stacy Guidry, Celeste Prudhomme, Andrea Tauzin, Jennifer Lormand and Casey Savoy.

The Miller home was decorated in purple and gold depicting the colors of the LSU Tiger’s football team. The patio, mimicking the same theme, held various LSU memorabilia. A LSU tent, set just off the patio, provided for extra outdoor seating.

The food table was covered with a LSU themed tablecloth and centered with a cluster of purple and gold balls. The cake table held a white buttercream confection consisting of half Bavarian cream and half raspberry favored fillings. The cake was trimmed in purple and gold with the center baring an “Eye of the Tiger” emblem with the couple’s initials. Two framed photos were also displayed on the table with one being of Nick Saban, of the LSU Tigers, and the other one of the LSU football team.

In keeping with the theme the honorees wore LSU shirts and denim jeans.

Refreshments of brisket with pocket-rolls, a shrimp mold, fresh fruit and vegetable trays, roast beef and ham sandwiches, a seven-layered dip and several types of desserts were served to accommodate 35 guests.

Guests enjoyed visiting and watching a LSU baseball game that was available for viewing on three different television sets around the home.

Honored as special guest was Sadie Nepveaux, grandmother of the groom-elect.

Out of town guests traveled from Morse, Midland, New Iberia, Rayne, Jennings and Houston, Texas.

The couple will wed during a 7 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, August 1, 2009 at Sunny Meade in Scott. Reverend Jimmy Broussard will officiate.
