Preston M. Menard

Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Preston M. Menard, 75, who passed away on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 3:07 a.m.  at his home in Kaplan.

Brother Len Whitaker, pastor of the First United Pentecostal Church in Crowley, officiated the services. Burial took place in the Hanks North Cemetery in Rayne.

At the family’s request, visitation was held on Sunday, Oct. 12, from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the funeral home chapel in Crowley. Visitation resumed Monday, Oct. 13, from 9 a.m. until time of services.

Survivors include wife, Aline Menard of Crowley; two daughters, Cara Menard of Dallas, Texas and Robyn Menard and husband, Ricky Felix of Crowley; two stepdaughters, Kathy Hayes of Crowley and Sharon Fisher of Moss Bluff; five stepsons, Dempsey and wife Denise Guidry of Lake Charles, George Guidry of Crowley, Terry Guidry of Crowley, Jerry Guidry of Crowley and Brett and Cathy Dolan of Baytown, Texas; one brother, Dalton “Black” Menard of Crowley; two sisters, Dorothy “Dot” Sarver of Crowley and Gloria Simon of Crowley; seven grandchildren, Alex “Nick” Martien, Taylor Martien, Paeton Vallier Sarver, AnaClaire Martien, Britan Vallier, Chloé Felix and Anden Felix; two great-grandchildren, Aubrie and Ansley Sarver; and a multitude of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Preston was preceded in death by his son, Preston Steven Menard; one stepdaughter, Glenda Davis; his friend, Wila Mae Doucet; his parents, Clyde and Solange Menard; one brother, Wilbur “Bud” Menard; and three sisters, Alma Istre, Leona Menard and Shirley Deshotel.

Pallbearers for the services were Taylor Martien, Brett Dolan, George Guidry, Mark Menard, Ronnie Menard and “Butch” Istre. Honorary pallbearer was Dempsey Guidry.
