Wilfred “Blanc” Broussard
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Morse for Wilfred “Blanc” Broussard, 89, of Morse, on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. with Father Clint Trahan. Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. The family request that visitation resume on Thursday, Oct. 16, at 8 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass. Wilfred will be laid to rest in Hanks Cemetery.
Wilfred was born in Morse on May 27, 1925, to the late Clevenis and the late Eriste Trahan Broussard. Wilfred passed away on Oct. 13, 2014. Wilfred was a tractor mechanic for many years. He loved to be outdoors gardening or fishing. Wilfred also loved to listen to French music. He especially loved going to Holly Beach. Wilfred was loved by many and will greatly missed by all who knew him.
Wilfred is survived by one daughter, Glenda (Russell) Henry of Crowley; one son-in-law, Robert P. Broussard of Gueydan; one brother, Wilbert Broussard of Crowley; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Wilfred is preceded in death by his parents, Clevenis and Eriste Broussard; his beloved wife, Wanda Broussard; one daughter, Brenda Broussard; one grandson, Ryan Henry; one brother, Burnice “Bruce” Broussard; and one sister-in-law, Jane Broussard.
Carrying Wilfred to his eternal resting place will be Robert P. Broussard II, Blake Henry, Bryce Zaunbrecher, Zachary Breaux, Judd Breaux and Harold Marceaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnnie Breaux, Jacob Zaunbrecher, Reagan LeBlanc, Ethan Zaunbrecher, Caleb Henry, Cole-Ryan Henry, Sadie Zaunbrecher, Caylyn Henry, Victoria Sisco, Chloe’ Broussard, Alyssa Sisco, Ava Broussard and Rylee Champagne.
