Mazie Belle Guidry
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mazie Belle Guidry, 89, at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point with Rev. Clint Trahan as Celebrant.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. and will resume Thursday at 8 a.m. until just prior to service time.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lyons Point.
Mrs. Guidry passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015, in Crowley.
Mazie was a longtime resident of Lyons Point who enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, gardening, sewing and also playing the triangles in her family’s Cajun Band. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Clinch of Lorton, Virginia, Catherine Richard and husband Mickey of Hardin, Texas, Edwin Guidry and wife Jackie of Broussard and Edmond Guidry and wife Parrie of Lyons Point; grandchildren, Jana Jackson, Brian Guidry, Ryan Clinch, Aaron Richard, Sonia Schexnayder, Tina Beskow, Kiesha Nall, Shawn Guidry, Chaney Guidry and Kolby Guidry; great-grandchildren, Taylor Morse, Charles Baker Jr., Hailey Richard, Nathan Jackson, Kaleb Baker, Ally Richard, Christian Richard, Emma Faye Beskow and Makenna Clinch; one sister, Audrey Matte of Groves, Texas; and one brother, Kearney Lavergne and wife Naomi also of Groves, Texas.
Mrs. Guidry was preceded in death by her husband, Ozanne Guidry; parents, Forrest Lavergne and Melanie Terro Lavergne; and two brothers, Carrol Lavergne and Freeland Lavergne.
Pallbearers will be Brian Guidry, Ryan Clinch, Aaron Richard, Shawn Guidry, Kolby Guidry and Charles Baker Jr.
